$18 flushed right down the toilet

I meet all minimum requirements. So riddle me this.. why does the screen just do nothing after the first few opening credit screens? I have tried hitting every button, and then tried every button + shift. Then + command. Ive tried right clicking, left clicking, it isnt doing anything.

If I would have known this would be happening, I would have just spent the $18 on something useful.
