Don’t understand the detractors
I first played Myst in 1997. That’s eons ago in software-development time.
Myst was captivating then, and the puzzles and story still hold up so many years later. Adding realtime walk-around is nice, though the look-around controls occasionally freeze-up, which is why it gets four stars from me instead of five. (I just randomly strike the keyboard and the problem fixes itself.)
To gripe about a 20-year-old game that holds up as well as Myst seems a bit of snark. The puzzles are puzzling because they’re SUPPOSED to be — it’s not Highlights Magazine.
Great game that has inspired so many since. Can’t wait to see Riven-Revisited.
