There were definitely some improvements made to this game since the last version was released. I noticed some of the issues I had mentioned were taken care of, great work on that! I still noticed some problems though, and when I played through the game, I took the time to note everything I could.
**WARNING** The rest of the comment below may contain spoilers. If you have never played the game before, do not read any further!
Myst Island: When the 4th red page is inserted into the red book, the book just disappears but still plays the correct audio. There are still no “reverse” sounds for the dimensional imager when it is turned on again. When the panel folds back to reveal the button which opens the tunnel below the spaceship walkway, it makes no sound. Also, what happened to the classic door sounds? (Instead of the AIM sounds)
Selenitic: The red light on the microphones dont light up when you activate their buttons. The metal doors sound on the antenna control panel has been changed. (Doesn’t make the sound that the Safe does in Myst Island, which it used to) When you “finish” the maze runner and enter that tunnel, there’s no sound when the lights go by you. (both original and realMyst had that)
Stoneship: No “stop” sound when you stop cranking the generator. Battery pack has no Green light. Compass room has no music when in the “normal” stage (puzzle not solved, but power on). Pump does not make pumping sound when switch is deactivated. Chest cannot be closed.
Mechanical: Secret doors make spaceship door sound. Elevator “opener” makes loud sound instead of softer sound whenever the indicator changes. Top floor doesnt play regular hallway music, and also, is VERY dark. Telescope does not face skeleton when rotated to North Island. Nighttime is WAY too dark.
Channelwood: Pump switch in windmill doesnt change much. The “death mechanism” on the top level operates the wrong way. The middle beige part is supposed to go BEFORE the blades on the side. The door isnt all metal anymore. At the telescoping pipe, there’s no sound for the water coming out of the pipe nearby (when disconnected), and there’s also no “stop” sound for when the pipe stops retracting or extending.
Rime: Only problem I noticed here was, the sound of the elevator doors closing isnt what it was on the first realMyst.
